Fliss Chester lives in West Sussex and writes 'cosy' crime fiction. She is currently working on a series based in Cornwall, revolving around teashop-owning and crime-fighting duo Maddie Penrose and her grandmother, Nor. The first in the series will be published in early spring 2026 by Bookouture.

Previous books by Fliss, all also published by Bookouture, include the Hon Cressida Fawcett Mysteries series, which are set in the 1920s and span seven books following the eponymous heroine as she uses her interior design know-how and society connections to solve murders. Death Among the Diamonds (September 2022) starts the series and sees our amateur sleuth solve her first case. The golden-age-style series also includes  Death by a Cornish Cove (February 2023) and Death in the Highlands (June 2023). Fliss also wrote the Fen Churche Mysteries series, starting with A Dangerous Goodbye in August 2020, and quickly followed by Night Train to Paris (November 2020) and The Moonlit Murders (April 2021). Night Train to Paris reached number one in the Amazon Australia charts shortly after release.

Before writing her Fen Churche Mysteries, Fliss wrote fun and flirty romances (Love in the Snow, Summer at the Vineyard and Meet Me on the Riviera, Orion Books). They're the sort of thing that might make your mother blush. Not Fliss's though, as she always encouraged Fliss to be 'anything you want, darling, as long as it's not dull'. Hopefully readers will attest to the fact that whether it's death by cyanide or a smooch in a hot tub, there's nothing dull about Fliss's books.
